Interference #3: a laboratory for artistic research

Interference3

Interference is both a festival and symposium. It is concerned with encounters between art and science where dialogues of the unfinished work, the art in the making, is central. Interference takes shape as a laboratory for artistic research where artistic processes are at the heart of the investigation. Participants: Katt Hernandez, Sten Sandell, Markus Tullberg, Peter Spissky, Susanne Rosenberg, Sara Wilén, Nguyen Thanh Thuy, Jörgen Dahlqvist, Kent Olofsson, Stefan Östersjö, Henrik Frisk and Conny Antonov.

Interference #3 welcomes two special guests, pianist Sten Sandell and singer Susanne Rosenberg. Sten Sandell is the opponent in the composer and violinist Katt Hernandez 25% seminar which opens up the symposium. Susanne Rosenberg presents an ongoing research project around improvisation in Swedish folk music in dialogue with the PhD candidate Sara Wilén whose research is concerned with similar questions in the field of opera. This part of the program for Tuesday afternoon takes us to Suellska villan, a few minute’s walk from the Inter Arts Center. The entire program is structured around a number of themes. The aim is to invite to a dialogue between different artistic projects. The core of the event is these interactions between PhD candidates at the Malmö Academy of Music but we herewith welcome a general audience to join the conversation.
