The Performance Programme, Early Music, aims to train musicians that
possess excellent artistic and professional qualities.
On
completion of the programme, the student must have adequate knowledge
and skill to be able to comfortably work within the various functions
and engagements of the professional musician: either as a soloist, a
member of an established ensemble or in independent projects.
The
student must also have developed the skills necessary for continued or
in-depth studies that are to a great degree autonomous. Furthermore, on
completion of the programme, the student must have acquired basic
entrepreneurial skills that increase his/her professional versatility in
an ever-changing cultural life.
The programme of
study consists of compulsory and optional courses. The academic year is
divided into weeks of scheduled classes, project weeks and weeks for
independent studies as well as examination and assignment weeks.
Teaching
takes place either individually or in group form. Playing in ensemble
form is an important element of the programme. Teaching of the primary
instrument of study is carried out in the form of individual classes.
Guest lecturers are used extensively. Teaching is planned in detail in
consultation with students. Students are expected to take initiative in
this process.
Once the programme is successfully
completed, students are awarded a degree of Master in Music.
