Our teachers are of the highest calibre and are all active in the professional music and cultural scene, many with international careers as musicians and composers.
You spend a lot of time with your instructors both individually and in groups. Chamber music, ensemble and orchestra practice also make up an important part of your time at the Academy. Most lectures are in English.
The Performance Programme has its own symphony orchestra which is led by internationally active guest conductors. The orchestra performs annually in the Malmö Concert House and has a well-established collaboration with the Malmö Opera Orchestra.
Practice makes perfect! There is a practice room for every five students at the Academy. Since the Academy is open sixteen hours a day, plus weekends, there are always students around. And with a lot of people and music you cannot help but enjoy the Academy’s fantastic atmosphere.
The study environment is creative and stimulating and the atmosphere between the teaching staff and the students is engaged, yet relaxed. Students and teachers meet daily in the Academy’s café to drink coffee and take part in discussions predominantly concerning the subject of music.
