Signe och Edvin Malmqvists stipendier

Signe och Edvin Malmqvists stipendiefond för träblåsare delar ut stipendier årligen. Utlysning sker under vårterminen och kan sökas även av dem som deltar i antagningsproven till Musikhögskolan i Malmö.

Stiftelsens egendom förvaltas av SEB, som årligen meddelar Musikhögskolan avkastingens storlek. Antal stipendier som utdelas är beroende av fondens avkasting. Stipendierna kan fördelas på färre eller flera personer. Stipendiesumman är cirka 40.000 SEK/student. Vid fördelning av stipendierna gäller principerna i MHMs policy för stipendier.

För stipendier ur Signe och Edvin Malmqvists stipendiefond gäller dessutom:

• att stipendierna är avsedda för träblåsstuderande, i första hand flöjtister (med en vid tolkning av begreppet träblåsinstrument),
• att studerande inom alla musikaliska genrer/stilar kan söka stipendie

För att stimulera antalet sökande på träblåsinstrument till Musikhögskolan i Malmö skall nyantagna studerande i första hand komma ifråga vid fördelningen av stipendierna.

Efter ansökningstidens utgång 3 maj (för sökande till Musiklärarutbildningen 20 maj) beslutar Musikhög-       skolans ledningsgrupp om utdelning. Beslut fattas i september.

The Signe and Edvin Malmqvist Scholarship

The Signe and Edvin Malmqvist Scholarship for woodwind musicians is awarded annually. The process of application is carried out each spring and even students partaking in the admittance exam to the Malmö Academy of Music can apply. Once the final date of application has passed (a date which may vary from year to year) the executive committee at the Academy decides on who will be awarded the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded at the Academy’s closing ceremony.

The scholarship funds are managed by the bank SEB, which informs the Academy annually on the size of the returns. The number of scholarships which is awarded depends on the size of the returns on the scholarship investments. The scholarship can be awarded to a varying number of people. The scholarship is awarded according to the principles in the Academy’s scholarship policy.

In the case of the Signe and Edvin Malmqvist Scholarship the following also applies:

• the scholarship is for students of woodwind instruments, on the first hand flautists (with a wide interpretation of the concept of woodwind instruments)
• students of all musical genres/styles may apply for the scholarship.

First year students are prioritised so as to stimulate the number of applicants to the Academy from students of woodwind instruments.
