The
scholarship is intended to enable young music students to continue their
studies within the instrumental areas of vocal studies, violin/viola,
piano and cello. The scholarships are intended for students of classical
music. Within the area of vocal studies, folk music is also a relevant
area of study. The foundation awards two types of scholarship:

For students of higher education level: Four scholarships of
approximate value SEK 50,000 are awarded to students of higher
education level at music academies or the equivalent. Applicants must
be Swedish citizens. Swedish citizens studying at higher education level
abroad are also able to apply. Instrumentalists who are 28 years of age
or younger the year of application and vocalists who are 33 years of age
or younger are welcome to apply. Auditions are held in front of a
selection panel at the Malmö Academy of Music at the end of April.
Applicants should be prepared to perform at least two works/parts of
works of varying character. Applicants are given 15 minutes to carry out
their performances. Accompaniment can be arranged.
* For
students in their last year of upper secondary education: Eight
scholarships (two in each instrument group) are awarded of approximate
value SEK 10,000. Applicants should be registered citizens of the
province of Skåne, Sweden. Auditions are held in front of a selection
panel in connection with auditions for the Royal Swedish Academy of
Music scholarships for young musicians. Applicants should be prepared to
perform a work/part of a work. Applicants are given a maximum of 6
minutes to carry out their performance. Accompaniment can be arranged.
Auditions are held during the spring term in various cities in Sweden.

Scholarship
Selection Process. The foundation decides which applicants will be
awarded with a scholarship after completed auditions and considering the
recommendations of panel members. Decisions are based on the following
principles: a) a ranking of applicants is based on audition performances
and b) weight is also given to the goals stated and letter of intent
given in the application.
Awarding Scholarships.
Scholarships are awarded to successful applicants in the Anderslöv’s
Church, Thursday June 3, 2010 at 6pm. Scholarship recipients should
be prepared to give a solo performance at the awards ceremony free of
charge.
Scholarship Payment. The foundation is
responsible for making payment of all scholarships.
