The Southern Choir Centre

- Körcentrum Syd

The Southern Choir Centre (Körcentrum Syd) at Lund University aims to work as a platform for the choir life in southern Sweden. The long-term objective is to strengthen choir activities through education, development, and research.

The following institutions are represented on The Southern Choir Centre's board: Lund University via Malmö Academy of Music and Odeum, Musik i Syd, Lars-Erik Larsson-gymnasiet and the Church of Sweden.

Since its launch in 2008, The Southern Choir Centre has made major efforts to develop the regions choir life and activities. Mainly through collaboration with different educational and cultural institutions, but also by promoting educational and artistic renewal and knowledge development. The Southern Choir Centre also places great emphasis on children's and young people's choir singing, and today the centre works as a meeting place, a resource centre, and an important source of inspiration.
