Performance Programmes

Admissions
The Malmö Academy of Music accepts a great number of international bachelor and master students every year. International Bachelor's and Master’s applicants must follow the same procedures for admission as Swedish nationals. Such applicants are required to appear in person for auditions in Malmö in the beginning of March each year. Last day of application for Autumn term is in the middle of January.

Important dates regarding the application for the admission 2019

December 3, 2018: Now you can apply
January 15, 2019: Last day of application
January 17, 2019: Deadline for sending in samples of work. This applies only to those programmes where submitted work samples are part of the admission process. Read more in the specific audition information for your programme.
January 25, 2019: Last day for compulsory additions to Universityadmissions in Östersund
February 20, 2019: Last day for sending in repertoire list and sheet music for accompanist/comping group
Week 10, 2019: Auditions in Malmö

Sheet music and work samples

The Malmö Academy of Music do not accept scanned sheet music by e-mail regarding the admissions to the Performance- and Churchmusic Programmes. Please send printed work samples and sheet music for accompaniment to:

Information about Performance Audition, Theory Test and Piano Audition

After applying, you will receive a personal audition invitation by e-mail in beginning of February. Please read the detailed instructions regarding each instrument/specialisation below. The Performance Auditions as well as the Theory test and the Piano Audition are held at the Malmö Academy of Music in beginning of March.

Theory Test
Candidates for the Composition and Performance Bachelor Programme must complete a theory test at their first choice of school. The result of the test can be used for all applications to music academies within the same application session (note: this does NOT include music teacher´s programmes). Candidates may only complete the test once for each application session.

Piano Audition
The audition is obligatory for all candidates for the Composition and Performance Bachelor Programme, classical specialisation (with the exception of guitarists, jazz musicians, world musicians, harpsichordists and pianists).

Please note that for admittance to the Malmö Academy of Music the piano audition needs to be carried out in Malmö.

How to apply

Please note that the application for the Bachelor Programme (except for the Symphony Orchestra Instrument specialisation) must be carried out at the Swedish website Antagning.se even if you are an international applicant, all though the application for the Master Programme and for the Bachelor Programme - Symphony Orchestra Instrument specialisation, can be done in English at Universityadmissions.se. You are most welcome to contact us at admissions [at] mhm [dot] lu [dot] se if you need help to fill out your application for the Bachelor Programme at the Swedish website.

International students apply to the Bachelor´s Programme - Symphony Orchestra Instruments, and the Master´s Programmes (all specialisations) at:
