BACHELOR'S PROGRAMME IN MUSIC · 180 CREDITS · 3 YEARS

This programme is aimed at students who want to deepen their technical and artistic skills, both as soloists and in ensembles, and work as professional recorder players in today's multifaceted music world.

The programme includes:

  • Instrumental Studies
You will have the opportunity to delve into various music styles, ranging from early music to contemporary music, and explore how they differ in instrumentation, tempering, and ornamentation. Through regular individual lessons, masterclasses, and group lessons, you will develop both technical skills and your artistic expression.

  • Chamber Music
Chamber music is a central part of the programme, offering you the opportunity to play in smaller ensembles with fellow students while refining your musical sensitivity and communication skills.

  • Projects
You will participate in various thematic collaborations, such as working with composition students on new music or with the singing class focusing on specific composers. Collaborations with the church music performance programmes are also common.

  • Ear Training and Harmony
You will develop your skills in identifying and analysing musical structures, which are fundamental to understanding and interpreting music in depth.

  • Music and Society
The courses in 'Music and Society' explore the role and impact of music in various social and cultural contexts.

  • Music as a profession
The course 'Music as a Profession' will give you a thorough insight into the professional aspects of the music industry while preparing you for a career as a musician.

  • Degree project (performing and reflective part)
The performing part (exam concert) constitutes 75% of your degree project. In the exam concert, your artistic and technical expressiveness is made visible. The reflective part makes up 25% of your thesis. The work is based on your own artistic practice and presented in a format of your choice: written, live or pre-recorded.
