The Lund University Symphony Orchestra at Malmö Academy of Music and training in professional orchestras
The Malmö Academy Symphony Orchestra performs around six projects per year under the guidance of internationally active conductors. The repertoire consists of classical, romantic and contemporary music and soloists are chosen after audition. The orchestra plays about 12-15 concerts a year, both at the Malmö Academy of Music, but also including Malmö Live Concert House and Helsingborg Concert House. The orchestra does every other year an overseas tour. The Academy collaborates with Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Opera Orchestra and the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra regarding training for all master students at the performance programme for symphony orchestra instruments, and diploma students do their soloist debut togehter with Malmö Symphony Orchestra or Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.
