SAS courses offered at Malmö Academy of Music
- Ensemble Music at Odeum 7,5 ECTS

The course takes place in one of the university's orchestras or choirs – Lund University Academic Orchestra, Lund Academic Choir or Lund University Brass band. The course is aimed at singers and musicians on a high non-professional level. The student must pass an audition in the beginning of the autumn/spring term in order to be accepted at the course.
- Arabic Rhythms, 7,5 ECTS

The purpose of this course is to gain basic knowledge in the field of Arabic rhythms together with basic techniques in playing the instruments rek, dag and darbouka drums. During the course you also perform exercises in improvisation and listening. The teaching will be carried out by ear. The course ends with a common drum session presentation.
The course will take place at Malmö Academy of Music, room D206, Ystadvägen 25, Malmö. Sundays 14.30 – 17.00, 4 September – 22 October
- Swedish Folk Music, 7,5 ECTS

The course is aimed at instrumentalists with good playing habits (not beginners) who want to learn more about Swedish Folk music in theory and praxis. The course contains ensemble exercises, intonation, improvisation and composition in the style of Swedish Folk music based on different dance types such as polska, polka, waltz and schottische. The course requires instrumental knowledge and ability to play by ear on a basic level.
The course will take place in Malmö at the Malmö Academy of Music, Ystadvägen 25, Malmö. Mondays at 17-18.30 in room D206.
