Symphony Orchestra Instrument

BACHELOR'S PROGRAMME IN MUSIC · 180 CREDITS · 3 YEARS
Classical Performance programmes (subtitles available in English under settings)

The Bachelor's programme in Symphony Orchestra Instrument gives you the knowledge and skills required to work as a soloist in an orchestra or ensembles.

Focus is placed on developing you into a musician with high artistic and professional ability. To achieve the best personal and professional development, the lessons are often individual, but also consist of group lessons, such as master classes and joint lessons. You will also work in an orchestra and with chamber music.

Malmö Academy of Music's Symphony Orchestra undertakes around six projects per academic year under the direction of nationally and internationally established guest conductors. The repertoire consists of Classical, Romantic, and contemporary music. The soloists are our own students who are selected through auditions.

The orchestra plays about 12-15 concerts per year and each project consists of one concert at Malmö Academy of Music and one at another venue, such as Malmö Live, Växjö Konserthus, Helsingborgs Konserthus, to name a few. Malmö Academy of Music's Symphony Orchestra also tour abroad, normally once a year.
