FOREWORDS
The music of the Baroque Era encompasses one hundred and fifty years of bursting passion, playful dance, spirited entertainment and works of advanced polyphonic structure – everything from Monteverdi’s dramatic narrative operas and madrigals at the beginning of the 17th century to the great mid-18th century masterworks by Bach, Händel and Vivaldi.

The Swedish Baroque Festival is organized by the Malmö Academy of Music, in cooperation with the City of Malmö, music foundation Musik i Skåne and the Swedish Broadcasting Corporation in Malmö.

The festival is produced with support from Crafoordska Stiftelsen, Kulturrådet and Lund University.
