Concert production (student)

Here you will find information on how to give a concert as a student.

1. Contact the right person

At Malmö Academy of Music there are several employees who work with concert production. Register your concert at least three weeks before the intended date by sending an email. The following applies:

Graduation concerts
Graduation concerts are booked by the academy's graduation concert coordinators together with students and teachers. Information about graduation concerts is sent out to the students concerned every autumn semester.

  • Thea Lundbäck is responsible for Bachelor and Master concerts: thea.lundback.mhm.lu.se
  • David Hornwall is responsible for Diploma concerts: david [dot] hornwall [at] mhm [dot] lu [dot] se (david[dot]hornwall[at]mhm[dot]lu[dot]se)

Other concerts
Please contact producer Anna Palmer: emma [dot] bolin [at] mhm [dot] lu [dot] se (anna[dot]palmer[at]mhm[dot]lu[dot]se)

2. Provide the right information

In order to manage your concert, the producer needs the following information:

  • Title - a title that describes your concert
  • Date and time (start and end time)
  • Where (which room/venue)
  • Text - a short text describing your concert and what you will be playing
  • High resolution image - landscape format without graphics or text
  • If needed a list of participants (co-musicians, soloist, conductor etc.)
  • If needed a full programme (composers, lyricists, works and movements etc.)

If you submit the right information to the producer in time, your concert will be promoted on the academy's website and on the inhouse information screens. If you also want a Facebook event, let the producer know. Please note that we do not make programmes or posters for inhouse concerts, only for certain external concerts and events. Ask the producer what applies in your case.

3. Instruments, technical equipment and access

You are welcome to consult the Technical Production & Instrument Service (TI) about your technical needs before a concert. However, you are responsible for booking instruments and technology if needed. You do this in Helpdesk at least three weeks before the concert.

To be able to enter the room where you will hold your concert, you must also have access added to your LU card. You order this via Helpdesk.
