Get started – newly admitted student
Have you been accepted at Malmö Academy of Music? Congratulations and welcome! Here we have gathered everything you need to know before term starts.
Checklist – this is what you need to do:
The first thing you need to do is activate your student account at passport.lu.se. Information on how to do this will be sent to the same email address you used when you applied for your programme at universityadmissions.se or antagning.se.
You need your student account in order to access wifi, your student email and the Canvas learning platform (among other things). If you already have an active account, you do not need to reactivate it.
All students who start a new programme at Malmö Academy of Music are welcome to join the introductory days. They are filled to the brim with workshops, concerts, educational information and more!
Practical information for new students:
Normal teaching starts on Monday 29 August.
Group tuition is usually scheduled in advance and you can access the schedule from 1 July.
As for the scheduling of individual lessons, the teachers in each course will contact you by phone or email at the start of the term.
Employees and students have access to the school premises:
- Weekdays: 07:00 to 22:45
- Saturdays and Sundays/holidays: 08:00 to 22:45
You will get your LU card during the introductory days. The LU card is important since it functions as a on-premise ID card. You need it to access the building, get in to the library and use the printers (among other things).
The Student web (Studentwebben) is Malmö Academy of Music's planning tool where you find information about your planned classes.
To log in to the Student web, use your Lucat-ID, without @lu.se in the end.
Ladok is a student administration system used at all Swedish universities and college universities. In Ladok you can access your study results, print study certificates, apply for your degree and more.
Lund University uses the video conferencing tool Zoom for digital meetings. Zoom can be used both for activities organised by teachers and collaborations between students.
You must download Zoom to your computer, tablet or phone. You use your student account to log in.
Even if you have used Zoom before, you must create an account via Lund University.
The wireless network at the university is called Eduroam.
Your Eduroam/wifi account also works at other universities as well as some public places such as train stations and airports.
A functional variation, such as a visual impairment, dyslexia, or ADHD, is not an obstacle to studies at Malmö Academy of Music.
We offer different forms of support depending on your situation. Contact the coordinator of educational support at Lund University to find out more.
Student involvement is a prioritised matter at our academy to ensure and maintain the high quality of our education. Students' interests are guarded by the student union.
The student union at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts is an association of students from Malmö Academy of Music, Malmö Art Academy and Malmö Theater Academy. Each institution has its separate section which ensure that students are represented on the Faculty Board, the institutions’ Board of Directors, as well as the Study Council. Students are also represented on the Academic Appointments Board, who sees to new hires and the promotion of teachers.
The student union’s main task is to guard, maintain and improve the quality of the education but they also arrange social activities. The union is a non-religious and non-partisan organisation.
Do you want to get involved? Contact the student union at: musik [dot] skfm [at] gmail [dot] com
Student rights may involve things such as student participation, students' work environment, how to conduct exams and degree projects and much more. Your rights and responsibilities as a student towards the University and your department are governed by university policies and national laws and regulations.
Do you have any questions? You are always welcome to contact us.
