The IT department is responsible for Malmö Academy of Music's IT environment and supports employees and students. If you have questions about the IT environment or want to report an error, use Helpdesk.
Eduroam is an encrypted network which is used at several universities and colleges around the world. Students from other universities and colleges who have Eduroam can log in when they are within Lund University's campus areas. In the same way, as a student from Lund University, you can log in via Eduroam at other universities and colleges.
Student
All students have an email address associated with Gmail.

As a student at Malmö Academy of Music, you are expected to stay continuously informed via your e-mail.
Employee
All employees have an email address and calendar in Exchange. When you are employed at Malmö Academy of Music, you are entered in LUCAT, Lund University's electronic personal and address catalog. You will then receive an e-mail address with your namn [at] mhm [dot] lu [dot] se. When the employment ends, the e-mail address stops working.

Employee
With LU Box you can store and share documents with others within and outside Lund University. All employees at Lund University have an account in LU Box. You log in with your Lucat ID.
You can also share material in LU Box with students. Students do not need to have a LU Box account to download or view documents.

Students do not get a LU Box account automatically when they start at Malmö Academy of Music. However, if students want to use LU Box, they can create an account for free.
Digital meetings in LU Zoom
A digital meeting is an online meeting which takes place from computer to computer via the Internet. During a digital meeting, you can see all participants, talk, show presentations and work with texts together. The meeting can also be recorded and reused at a later time.
At Malmö Academy of Music, LU Zoom is used for digital meetings, Lund University's own Zoom, which is separate from the commercial Zoom version.

At Malmö Academy of Music, there are public computers in room T and in the library.
Computers in room T
In room T there are nine iMac computers with programmes for working with music, pictures, movies and word processing.
The library
In the library there are six iMac computers with programmes for working with music, pictures, movies and word processing.
Log in and out
You log in to the academy's public computers with your student ID. Do not forget to log out when you leave the computer. You will be logged out automatically after 15 minutes of inactivity.
All public computers are emptied every night. Save your files to an external hard drive / USB or in the cloud.
There are five public printers at Malmö Academy of Music:

You use your LU card to print your documents.

As a student, you administer your printer account via the web.
As a student at Malmö Academy of Music, you will be given a student account which consist of a username and password. The student account functions as your personal IT account and gives you access to, among other things, e-mail, access card, and the library's online services.
VPN stands for "virtual private network". It is a technology used for creating a secure connection over the Internet. By logging in via VPN, you can access internal resources at Lund University, such as the Primula website, even if you are at home or travelling.
