Borrowing instruments
This is where you find information about what possibilities and responsibilities you have as a student at the school, when it comes to borrowing the school's instruments.
From the Technical Department you can borrow instruments for rehearsal, recording and concerts that are linked to your education.
Requests for booking instruments are always made via the Helpdesk under ‘AV & Instruments/Loans: technical equipment/instrument loan’.
For orchestral instruments, first contact the responsible teacher who needs to approve the loan.
Keep in mind to send your request with good foresight, as there are limited instruments in our inventory..
The following applies to loans of instruments:
- All instrument loans must be signed for by the person borrowing it (student or staff). This is done at the Technical Department (room B206).
- A student who borrows an instrument is responsible for it until the instrument is returned to the Technical Department. If an instrument is destroyed or lost, the borrower is financially responsible for replacing the destroyed or lost instrument.
- Loans of instruments are intended for use on MHM's premises. If you want to use your instrument loan outside of school this needs to be done in consultation with the AV-technicians and your teacher.
Examples of instruments students can borrow are:
- Orchestral instruments
- Woodwind instruments
- Brass instruments
- String instruments
- Electrical instruments
- Keyboards
- Percussion
