Get started – newly admitted student
Before the start of Autumn semester 2021
Are you accepted to study at the performance and church music programmes or music teacher's training programme at the Malmö Academy of Music? Congratulations and warmly welcome! On this page, we have gathered everything you need to know before the start of the semester.
Checklist – this is what you need to do:
The first thing you need to do is activate your student account on passport.lu.se. You will receive information on how to activate your account to the e-mail address you registered on antagning.se or universityadmissions.se.
You need the student account to, for example, access wireless networks, student emails and the Canvas learning platform. If you already have an active account, you do not need to reactivate it.
On 23–27 August, all students who start a new programme at the Malmö Academy of Music are welcome to join introductory days with workshops, concerts, educational information, study techniques and more.
Due to Covid-19, the exact start time will vary for new students in different programmes and specializations. These times and more information will be announced later via email and on this website.
Practical information for you who are new
Teaching according to ordinary schedule starts on Monday 30 August.
All group tuition is usually scheduled in advance. You can see their schedule from 1 July, with the exception of first-year students at the music teacher's training programmes, who can see their schedule no later than two weeks before the start of the academic year.
For scheduling of individual lessons, your teachers in each course will contact you by phone or email at the start of the semester.
The academy is open for students and employees every day 07-23.
You use the LU card as a local ID card, library card at the academy's library, access card in the building and to print or copy. In the schedule for the introductory days, there is time set for you to be photographed and have the card produced while you wait.
The Student Webs (Studentwebben) is the Academy of Music's local planning tool where you can see information about your planned teaching.
Note! To log in to the Student Web, use your Lucat-ID, without @lu.se.

You can download Zoom to your computer, tablet or phone and you log in with your student account.

The wireless network at the university is called Eduroam.
Your Eduroam/WIFI account also works at other universities as well as some public places such as train stations and airports.
The student union
At Lund University, there are nine student unions. A student union is an association of students who study a certain subject area. One of the unions' most important tasks is education monitoring. This means that the union ensures that the educations and study environments are of a high quality. Those who get involved in the student union organize the students' influence on the educations at Lund University.
