Are you accepted to study at the performance and church music programmes or music teacher's training programme at the Malmö Academy of Music? Congratulations and warmly welcome! On this page, we have gathered everything you need to know before the start of the semester.

Between 23–30 August, you must log in to Studentportalen, click on LADOK and register for your education.

On 23–27 August, all students who start a new programme at the Malmö Academy of Music are welcome to join introductory days with workshops, concerts, educational information, study techniques and more.

Due to Covid-19, the exact start time will vary for new students in different programmes and specializations. These times and more information will be announced later via email and on this website.

Practical information for you who are new

Autumn term 2021: begins 30 August 2021 and ends 16 January 2021.
Spring term 2022: begins 17 January 2021 and ends 6 June 2022.

Academic year overview 2021/2022

Teaching according to ordinary schedule starts on Monday 30 August.

All group tuition is usually scheduled in advance. You can see their schedule from 1 July, with the exception of first-year students at the music teacher's training programmes, who can see their schedule no later than two weeks before the start of the academic year.

For scheduling of individual lessons, your teachers in each course will contact you by phone or email at the start of the semester.

The academy is open for students and employees every day 07-23.

You use the LU card as a local ID card, library card at the academy's library, access card in the building and to print or copy. In the schedule for the introductory days, there is time set for you to be photographed and have the card produced while you wait.

Ladok is a student administration system used in all Swedish universities and college universities. In Ladok you can see your study results, print study certificate, apply for your degree and more.

Canvas is Lund University's learning platform. You log in to Canvas with your student account.

Lund University uses the video conferencing tool Zoom to meet digital through teaching and other forms of study. Zoom can be used both for activities organized by teachers and collaborations between students.

You can download Zoom to your computer, tablet or phone and you log in with your student account.

Make sure you have the technical equipment needed to use Zoom. When you install the program, you can test audio and video.

Even if you have used Zoom before, you must create an account via Lund University.

The wireless network at the university is called Eduroam.

Your Eduroam/WIFI account also works at other universities as well as some public places such as train stations and airports.

The student union

At Lund University, there are nine student unions. A student union is an association of students who study a certain subject area. One of the unions' most important tasks is education monitoring. This means that the union ensures that the educations and study environments are of a high quality. Those who get involved in the student union organize the students' influence on the educations at Lund University.
