Borrowing technical equipment

This is where you find information about what possibilities and responsibilities you have as a student at the school, when it comes to borrowing the school's technical equipment.

From the Technical Department you can borrow technical equipment for rehearsal, recording and concerts that are linked to your education.
Requests for booking equipment are always made via the Helpdesk under ‘AV & Instruments / Services & Loans’. Our technicians are available to advise on which equipment is suitable for your needs.

Keep in mind to send your request with good foresight, as there are limited equipment in our inventory considering the amount of students.

The following applies to loans of technical equipment:

  • All equipment loans must be signed for by the person borrowing it (student or staff). This is done at the Technical Department (room B206).
  • A student who borrows technical equipment is responsible for it until the loan is returned to the Technical Department. If equipment is destroyed or lost, the borrower is financially responsible for replacing the destroyed or lost equipment.
  • Loans of technical equipment are intended for use on MHM's premises. If you want to use your loan outside of school this needs to be done in consultation with the AV-technicians and your teacher.

Examples of technical equipement students can borrow are:

  • Microphones
  • Video cameras
  • Digital audio recorders
  • Portable studios
  • Backline for concerts
  • Lights, PA, and other audio equipment for use in rooms that do not already have it
  • Projectors

There are also a few simpler kits with a microphone and XLR cable to borrow directly through the reception during its opening hours.

Watch this short video on how to coil the cables correctly, so that they last as long as possible:
