Kristian Chojecki | Cello

Kristian Chojecki graduated from Malmö Academy of Music in 2023 after studying cello under Andreas Brantelid. He is currently working as a freelance cellist in Copenhagen and is also a member of the award-winning string quartet, the Monbijou Quartet.

The Monbijou Quartet was formed during the 2022 holiday season on Monbijougatan in Malmö. Just a year later, they won the Ung & Lovande 2023 competition, which gave them the opportunity to embark on a winner’s tour and perform with chamber music societies across Sweden.

The quartet has also participated in several prestigious music festivals, including Styrsö Chamber Music Festival, Sandviken Chamber Music Festival, and Crans-Montana Classics. During these festivals, they had the opportunity to study with the internationally acclaimed Jerusalem Quartet, which has significantly contributed to their artistic development and musical inspiration.

At the Karol Szymanowski International Music Competition, the Monbijou Quartet reached the finals and was awarded a special prize for their interpretation of a newly composed work.
