Instructions and criteria for work samples:

Please read all information carefully.

To ensure your video recordings are accepted for assessment, you must follow these instructions:

  • Identification: Begin each video by identifying yourself – film your ID or passport, and your face. Clearly state which piece you will be performing.

  • Framing: Your face, hands and instrument must be visible at all times.

  • Recording: Perform and record one (1) piece/audition task per film. No technical edits are allowed.

  • Audio quality: Use your phone's microphone or an external room microphone. The sound should be of good quality, without excessive room acoustics, distortion, or noise.

  • Video quality: The video recordings must have good image quality with good contrast and light.

  • File format: You must upload the recordings in MP4 format. Other file formats are not allowed. Your folder with work samples must not exceed 5 GB.

If the instructions are not followed, or if the video files are deemed to be modified, your work samples may be considered invalid.

  1. Read the information carefully to ensure you send the correct files in the correct format.
  2. Make sure you have applied for the programme at antagning.se or universityadmissions.se

Prepare your video files

  • Save your video files in MP4 format.

  • Name each file with the title and number, your initials (first name + surname, two letters each), your date of birth (YY/MM/DD) and your instrument. Separate the data with underscores (_).

    • Example: Video1_JeSm_990230_flute (for Jessica Smith, born 1999-02-30, applying for flute).
    • The next file should be named Video2_ JeSm_990230_your instrument, and so on.

Create a ZIP file

  • Create a folder on your computer and name it according to the format: Your instrument_Full name_Date of birth (YY/MM/DD)

    • Example: Flute_JessicaSmith_990230

  • Place all video files in the folder and compress it into a ZIP file. Do not use RAR, as we cannot open that format.

  • The folder must not exceed 5 GB.

Upload your ZIP file

  • Open the upload link (found further down this page).

  • Select or drag the ZIP file from your computer.

  • Click Upload.

Once the upload is complete, you will receive a confirmation in your browser. Do not close the browser until the upload is finished.

If you need help

Contact us via email: admissions [at] mhm [dot] lu [dot] se (admissions[at]mhm[dot]lu[dot]se). Never send work samples via email, as your application will be considered incomplete.

Note: It is your responsibility to ensure that the work samples are complete, in the correct format, and playable.

Eligibility and Selection

  • Meet the general entry requirements for higher education and be able to present a Bachelor’s degree in Music or equivalent at the start of your studies.
  • Meet the specific entry requirement by achieving approved results in all qualifying tests (entrance tests).

Selection is based on the results of the entrance examinations.

Assessment criteria for the main instruments:
