Symphony Orchestra Instrument

MASTER'S PROGRAMME IN MUSIC · 120 CREDITS · 2 YEARS
Classical Performance programmes (subtitles available in English under settings)

The Master's programme in Symphony Orchestra Instrument gives you the knowledge and skills required to work as a soloist, in orchestra or ensembles.

Focus is placed on developing you into a musician with high artistic and professional ability. To achieve the best personal and professional development, the lessons are often individual, but also consist of group lessons, such as master classes and joint lessons. In addition to this, you will also work in orchestra and with chamber music.

Malmö Academy of Music's Symphony Orchestra

Malmö Academy of Music's Symphony Orchestra undertakes around six projects per academic year under the direction of nationally and internationally established guest conductors. The repertoire consists of Classical, Romantic, and contemporary music. The soloists are our own students who are selected through auditions. The orchestra perform about 12-15 concerts a year,  both at the Malmö Academy of Music, but also at Malmö Live and Helsingborg Concert Hall.

Internships in professional orchestras

Malmö  Academy of Music collaborates with Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Malmö Opera Orchestra and Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra regarding internships for all Master's students at the performance programme for symphony orchestra instruments.
