Church Music

MASTER'S PROGRAMME IN MUSIC · 120 CREDITS · 2 YEARS

The Master’s programme in Church Music aims to train musicians with excellent artistic, pedagogical and professional abilities.

Upon completing the programme, you will possess well-developed knowledge, understanding, and skills that prepare you for a range of professional roles — whether as a soloist, a member of a permanent ensemble, or a musician within the Church of Sweden or other congregations. You will also have strengthened your ability to work and study independently.

In addition, you will gain solid entrepreneurial skills, enhancing your professional adaptability within the dynamic landscape of ecclesiastical and cultural life.

The Master's programme in Church Music spans two years. Throughout your studies, you may take part in shared courses and collaborative projects with other students in Church Music or Performance programmes.

Admission requirements and selection criteria

General requirements for university studies in Sweden as well as a Bachelor in Music 180 credits or equivalent and successful entrance tests to the Master’s Programme in Church Music. Exceptions can be made from the basic eligibility requirement of proficiency in Swedish for international students.
