Motstånd och acceptans : En studie om Suzukimetoden ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv

Author

  • Ida Knutsson

Summary, in English

The aim of this study is to scrutinize what happens when a new music pedagogical approach is introduced in a context already dominated by another method. This is a qualitative research study using a narrative analysis method on two in depth interviews with two Danish Suzuki teacher trainers. The theoretical point of view is a sociocultural perspective and mainly cultural-historical activity theory (CHAT). The result shows that the Suzuki Method was received with suspicion and skepticism since it was so diametrical different from our Scandinavian model, but that it over the years has gained acceptance by showing great results with several successful musicians and a good reputation.
