Composition | Scoring for Film and Media
Composition – Scoring for Film and Media, aims to develop the student’s creativity and ability to sensitively capture dramatic and emotional events in moving image through music. On completion of the programme, the student shall have acquired an ability to work as a composer in film, game and media productions.
The programme also aims to develop the student’s ability to adapt their work to the demands of the industry for new approaches and change. This work includes developing the ability to work with other professional groups of importance to the film and media industry, for example, directors, editors and sound designers. The programme largely consist of individual composition classes but also of group classes such as workshops and seminars. Subjects include film analysis, Digital tools and EAM, Music Theory and Instrumentation and The Music Profession.
Projects and collaborations
The programme is offered in cooperation with Film i Skåne, Massive Entertainment, Filmcentrum Syd, The Game Assembly and other leading organisations in the industry in the Öresund region. Students participate in projects throughout the programme.
Degree project
At the conclusion of the programme, students complete a degree project with both a performance part and a written part. On completion of the programme, a Degree of Master in Music is awarded.

Reminder
In order to meet the entry requirements for a Master’s programme you have to be able to demonstrate a Bachelor’s degree in Music or equivalent at the beginning of the term.
