Management and organisation

Malmö Academy of Music is one of three institutions belonging to the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts at Lund University.

Faculty Board

The Faculty Board at the Faculty of Fine and Performing Arts has the overall strategic responsibility for its three institutions – Malmö Academy of Music, Malmö Art Academy and Malmö Theatre Academy.

Board of Directors

At Malmö Academy of Music, the Board of Directors is the highest decision-making body. It consists of 12 members; seven teachers, two other employees and three student representatives, including a doctoral student. They are appointed by election in each category. The school's Head of Department is chairperson. 

Educational committees

At Malmö Academy of Music, there are two educational committees; 1) the Educational Committee of the Performance and Church Music Programmes, and 2) the Educational Committee of the Music Teacher Programme. These committees are responsible for and decides on issues regarding course contents, implementation, and development. Each committee consists of five teacher representatives and two student representatives. They elect their own chairperson.

Colleges and councils

There are also a few smaller colleges and councils which are responsible for the planning and coordination in various areas. These are run by teachers and have an advisory and preparatory function to the Education Committees and the Board of Directors.

The Southern Choral Centre

The Southern Choral Centre (Körcentrum Syd) is a choir centre established by Lund University which aims to work as a platform for the choral life in southern Sweden.

Organisationally, The Southern Choral Centre belongs to Malmö Academy of Music.
